Members of the LIA Small Business Council (SBC) gathered for LIA President Matthew T. Crosson’s annual address to the committee on Tues., Jan. 12, 2010 at the LIA headquarters in Melville.
Crosson’s presentation “2010: The Year Ahead” provided insight into issues that will affect Long Island’s business community including the federal stimulus package, healthcare reform, NYS budget, and more.
SBC Committee chair Phyllis Hill Slater acknowledged Crosson’s leadership and innovative thinking that has fostered the growth of small businesses and the SBC for the past 16 years. “Opening the door for small businesses to have access to LIA board members and Long Island business leaders was just one of many impactful concepts that Matt initiated. The SBC has grown to the largest committee within the LIA and reflects great diversity including women and minorities," said Hill Slater.
